Friends of ours out here in RV Land turned us onto a really costs-saving alternative to scouring the countryside for the lowest cost diesel fuel. And with those random searches came the risks associated – using fuel to save money (costly); access to the pumps (big rigs have limitations, like the Earth has gravity – laws, not suggestions); old and contaminated fuel (don’t go there!). Sure, we used apps to help us navigate and even search for low cost fuel (like GasBuddy), but that is in the past.
TSD Logistics is a trucking company in Texas that allows other diesel consumers to join their fleet buying power through the use of their debit card. And the savings are phenominal, way higher than any possible savings from the cheapest off-brand gas station!
How the EFS card works
This is copied and pasted from the TSD website:
“We issue you an EFS card.
Pull into the truck line in the back of the store.
Insert your EFS card into the fuel pump.
A prompt will show to ask for specific information that verifies the owner. You enter the correct information and pump your diesel.
Within 2-5 business days the money is drafted from your bank account and you receive an email showing you the details of the transaction and our fees. There is a $30 fee for insufficient funds and a $15 fee for incorrect bank information.
Our fee is 10% of the savings per gallon and up to 15% for commercial. So if the retail cost is $3.00 per gallon and our cost is $2.50 per gallon, your fee will be 5 cents per gallon.
If we can’t save you money, you owe us nothing!
There are no long-term contracts to sign and no hidden fees. If you choose to not use the program any longer, simply don’t use the card.”

Our real-time savings
The first fillup was at a TA truck stop in Las Vegas. We pumped 65.79 gallons of diesel and paid $1.575 per gallon, a savings of $87.11 over the pump price.
Second fill up: At a Love’s Travel Stop in ELY, NV we paid $1.572 per gallon for 44 gallons of diesel fuel at a savings of $54.63.
Third fillup: TA in Boise, Idaho where we pumped 51.47 gallons at $1.709 per gallon and a savings of $50.96!
In three uses of the EFS card at truck stops (a place we were unlikely to visit previously due to cost), we have saved $192!
If you use us as a reference, we’ll get a bonus! Just tell them that Richard Harrington sent you! And if you get others to join and they use you as the reference, you’ll get the bonus, too! Who doesn’t like free fuel??
