Excellent service with great food to scratch that Mediterranean itch
After spending most of the morning finding and photographing the amazing murals in Twenty-nine Palms, California, we stopped for a well-deserved lunch treat. Palm Kabob House was highly recommended by our friend – blank – , owner of Cowboy Attic, whom we met in Quartzsite, Arizona a month or so in the past – but that is another story.
We were greeted by a friendly young lady who encouraged us to sit wherever we’d like. Menus were delivered and our courteous waitress encouraged us to try the homemade lemonade. It was excellent! The menu was varied with burgers and pita wraps, traditional entrees and salads. Corinne ordered some fresh hummus and pita for us to share as an appetizer. I ordered the meat shawarma and Corinne ordered the falafel pita wrap.
The hummus was smooth, fresh and delicious with warm, fresh-baked pita. A great way to start the meal! My entree came with soup. I opted for Lemon Lentil – and it was excellent. I could taste all the herbs and spices that made this soup so special. It came with a side of crispy toasted pita chips; a nice touch that gave the soup some crunch.
When the entrees were served, our waitress asked if we felt cold – which surprised and impressed us as her concern for our comfort was genuine and friendly – an attribute missing from so many folks who work with the public. She upped the thermostat in the dining room and we felt warm and ready to eat.
The entrees were fresh and delicious, generous portions and full of flavor. Corinne’s falafel was hot and fresh and my shawarma was excellent – perfectly flavored lamb and beef with pickles, tomato and tahini sauce. Juicy and delicious!
For convenience, good service and great food, give Palm Kabob House a shake!
